Imagine if an aging or under-utilized non-instructional, or a site already identified on the TDSB’s Capital priorities list could be the focus of an education orientated redevelopment. A school at it’s core –  but a complementary municipal or provincial partner providing  community services, affordable housing, a recreation facility, senior’s care, even a public library. A redeveloped school site doesn’t just have to be a school, it can be an integrated space that maximizes the public assets and to be a destinations that serve students as well as the broader public. That’s  the value of modern thinking.
