Toronto Lands Corporation CEO Ryan Glenn joined with Councillor Josh Matlow (Toronto–St. Paul’s), Parks, Forestry & Recreation General Manager Howie Dayton, and local community leaders to formally kick off construction of the Davisville Aquatic Centre.

The City of Toronto is building a new aquatic and multi-use community centre east of the intersection of Yonge Street and Davisville Avenue.  The facility will include two indoor swimming pools and several multi-purpose rooms to serve various community needs.  The City’s, Parks Forestry & Recreation, Capital Projects Design & Delivery division manages the construction.  The project is scheduled for completion in early 2027.

The result of an agreement between the City and the Toronto District School Board, the new aquatic centre is being built on the land of the adjacent Davisville PS/Spectrum Sr AS in exchange for City funding for the creation of the new school on site. It is an excellent example of the benefits offered to communities when the City and TDSB collaborate to ensure efficient use of public space, offering new recreational options in the midst of a vertical neighbourhood.

TLC continues to work with TDSB and the City to monitor construction and address possible concerns.  More information on the project and construction updates are available on the City of Toronto’s project website.
