8-18 Brownlow Avenue and 190-200 Soudan Avenue
A zoning by-law amendment application was submitted for a 21-storey residential building, including 167 new rental units. In 2021, the developer filed an appeal to the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT) on the lack of decision by City Council on the zoning by-law amendment application.
The proposed development is located in the Midtown Area, a community experiencing residential intensification and population growth that is presenting significant pupil accommodation challenges at all local elementary schools. TLC is a party to the OLT case, to ensure development occupancy timing aligns with TDSB’s timing and strategy for providing sufficient local accommodation.
