TLC has initiated a Request for Proposal seeking a not-for-profit partner to upgrade the sports field at Emery CI in North York at 3395 Weston Road.
TLC has been working toward completing an agreement with the Toronto Scottish Rugby Football Club (TSRFC) to enhance the sports field at Lawrence Park CI in North Toronto. Under the terms of the draft agreement, TSRFC will invest $1.5 million to install a new artificial turf field for the school. Students at LPCI will have exclusive use of the field on regular school days, while TSRFC will use the field on Saturdays and some weeknights. The remainder of the time, the improved field will be available for community use. TLC is excited about the partnership model that will improve student experiences while serving to advance sports activities in the broader community.
Following this model, TLC has created an opportunity for another not-for-profit sports organization to invest in an artificial turf field in exchange for after-hours access at Emery CI. There is no specific requirement on the type of sports organization (soccer, rugby, cricket, etc). Interested parties can access the full RFP on the Bids & Tenders website. Deadline for submissions is June 30, 2024.
